I believe if you were in receipt of winter fuel allowance before you moved to Spain, then you got to keep it, although the rules could well have changed.

winktype wrote:Why would you expect to get 2 pension payments within 1 week of each other???? It would help if you answered the question as to whether you are a UK resident. That would help identify the second payment. I received my UK pension plus my oap winter fuel top up within a few days of each other.

I am a resident also lost my wf payment last year ..! I am still puzzled about the 2 payments.

I understood from original poster that their pension was less this month/week for some reason but as other posters have said it may be their winter fuel allowance rather than their pension. The WFA is very generous this year. Gone from €200 to €500. It is always lodged separately to pension.

You cannot get the payment if you live in Cyprus, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Malta, Portugal or Spain because the average winter temperature is higher than the warmest region of the UK.

Thanks Fred. I know that came in a few years ago as I remember the debate on here. Neither can you get the WFA if they consider you haven't sufficient ties to UK although you may be getting a UK pension having worked there for a few years. WfA is generally paid to those who have been working or living in UK for most of their working lives. I have a small pension from UK but don't qualify for WFA. On the other hand my sister, who lives in Ireland also, is entitled to WFA due to the number of years she contributed to the N.I

France would have absolutely been on the list if the UK hadn't included the overseas territories to artificially raise the temperature average!
