Octopus energy

I've recently noticed my Iberdrola night tariff rates have changed . I started a new contract 4 months ago, I changed to 22p cheap and 33c dear rate , but find my rates are 28/33. Is this an error or did they change the lower rate from 22 to 28c.
I rang Iberdrola 4 times this morning and asked for an English speaker and was told they would get one, put me on hold, and 4 times the call was cut off.
If you ring octopus they will send their rates and on the first skim read seem to be better than iberdrolas.
I'm going to visit iberdrola at Rojales, I found the staff at guardamar unhelpful at best and rude.
Octopus are the same company that I used in UK for 20 odd years found their rates the best along with their customer care. Just saying.

Do they just stick their fingers in the air and see which way the wind is blowing?
Their website says the day/night tariff is 21 day and 16 night
Our choose your 8 hours is 8 cents in those hours and 19.99 cents outside those hours.
Even the pay the same every hour (stable plan) is only 20 cents every hour which is lower than your cheap rate.

No idea where your costs came from so best you go and have a check at the office.

We changed to the tariff Marcliff is quoting 3 weeks ago but as I said on a post last week they added 3 insurance policies without telling us, anyway we’ll sort that in next couple of week when we get back.We are looking to change to Octopus .If you have the Octopus app.you can get all the price info for Spain & change to their supply on it,Prices are very competitive, the 24 hr. Plan is €.175 per kwhr inc.tax.If their customer service is as good as UK it’ll be worth it.All depends when you use most power.

Thanks for replies, I'm in Iberdrola office at the moment, the young lady is raising her voice with a cliente and being quite sharp.
I will see what she's says.
Can one change to another provider,I'm not sure what my contract is. I've been with Iberdrola for 20 years.

You can change but be careful. Many of the independent suppliers are on the free market instead of the regulated ones and the prices can shoot up. All well and good if prices come down but, like last year, some people were paying hundreds a month compared to the regulated market which were less than a hundred.

Just be aware what type of contract you are on. The free one was a disaster over the last year. Remember, only two companies actually supply the power and that is Iberdrola and Endesa. The rest of them buy the electricity from those two and negotiate lower prices but standing charges will be the same. When the prices went up last year and the gas cap was added those on the regulated tariff were fine whilst those on the free market saw huge rises.

She didn't bite my head off.

She says I can change companies without restrictions.
The day night rate is 18 and 24, so I've been overpaying a lot. What bugs me about Iberdrola is that they never alert you to changes and that plus some of their bad customer service is enough for me to change.
I was grin and bearing the high prices because I thought it was the energy situation in the EU, but it was Iberdrola taking advantage of me.
Ps Thankyou Marcliff, I understand what you are saying, will be careful when choosing

Why would you choose to be on a day/night tariff when the night tariff is more expensive than their 24 hour rate? I pay just under 16c to Iberdrola all day and night. This is not an old tariff, I got it a few months ago.

The whole point of a day/night is you get much cheaper rates off-peak so encourage you to use energy then if possible. The downside is the peak rate is normally a little more than a 24 hour rate, but worth doing if you can ensure you take advantage of the cheaper off-peak rate.

The rate you have does not make any sense at all, its awful.

I have a feeling that I was duped (naive) into paying more than their cheapest rates by their people in the likes of Carrefour and Leroy Merlín.
I don't trust Iberdrola now.
I'm not pushing octopus but here is the link to their rates.
