Cepsa Gas Prices ?

About two weeks ago I bought a Cepsa Butane gas bottle from the delivery service that comes around the streets on a Wednesday.
We only use one about every 6 months for the gas hob so I am not familiar with the current prices. The driver charged me 21 euros for the bottle and I gave him an empty one. However last week I read in a local paper that the maximum retail price of a butane gas bottle was being reduced from 16.79 e to 15.96 e from the 16th May. I did send an e-mail to the company in Almoradi who deliver around here but I have not had a reply. Is 21 euros the normal price for bottles being delivered or have I been overcharged as they do not give receipts ?

The price you saw is for the Heavy bottles not the lightweight one , only the heavy ones are subject to Price controls same applies to Repsol

As jpeg says, only the heavy steel cylinders are price capped. These contain 12.5kg of gas and weigh around 26kg when full.

Lightweight cylinders contain either 12 or 12.5kg of gas and weigh about 50% less. They are not subject to the fixed price.

Prices on they heavier ones are reviewed every 2 months and cannot rise more than 5% but this, again, does not apply to the lightweight bottles.

21 euro seems to be the average price but some charge a handling charge which was supposed to be around a euro but Quesada gas, for example, charges 2 euro handling charge.

Thanks for the info. It is a pity that the news article did not specify this. It just said Butane gas bottles.

I have now looked at Cepsa's own website, cepsa.es/en/, and it has all the prices for the various bottles they sell.
They do not market the heavy bottles for butane gas, only the light ones. It shows that the price for the 12.5 kg (light) bottle, can vary from €15.96 to €18.76 and this includes taxes and expenses. Their propane bottles are cheaper than this.
There is no mention of being charged €21.

Why question one every 6 months? We only use one and maybe a second in a YEAR.
