Cadastral Suma bill

Just received our first Cadastral Suma bill. From what I can make of it there has been a slight increase in the cost. Our property is jointly owned by my wife and myself. We both received the bill separately for exactly the same amount. My question is, are we only expected to pay the one charge. That the letters are sent to both of us separately because we are both registered owners. Also if it's paid in one name, will we always have to pay in that name.

I haven't heard of that before. In any case you can calculate the bill yourself from the bill from SUMA. There are 2 values on the bill. Use the one which says Base Liquidable - it should be about 50% of the value of your property- and multiply it by Tipo Imponible

So it's Base Liquidable x Tipo Impositivo = IBI

So if your valor cat/base imponible is say €50,000 and your Tipo Impositivo is .50 then 50000x .50% = €250 which is the IBI on the property.

Sorry for brain fog if anybody read my original post.

Thank you. I'll see if I can do it.
