Lovely food in the Vista del Mar, turn right out of Parador, about a kilometre further down on beachfront opposite the Puntazo Hotel.

We stayed in Mojacar in February a few years ago and everything was dead! We visited the old town and managed to get something to eat during the day but it was nothing fancy. I hope you can get a good meal at the playa but failing that, you’ll get something at your hotel. Can’t remember where we stayed but the buffet was great to look at but nothing to write home about. We survived! Moved on to Almeria and stayed at the AC Marriott. Lovely hotel. Restaurants opened after 8.30 pm. We had some delicious meals. Enjoy.

Thanks mac3blade. Was rather afraid that might be the case! Almeria is in the opposite direction to where we’re heading otherwise we may have taken your advice. Appreciate your reply.

No Problem, we have been staying in Mojacar at least 3 or 4 times a year for the last 20 years. We used it as a base when we were looking for a property recently, so we were here a lot of the time in the "off" season. TBF we used the Parador and were not impressed at all. Might have been good when first built, but now aging and not worth the premium. Just want a snack and a beer during the day? go to the Bodega bar, same side of the road as the Puntazo, just turn right about a hundred metres before it and up the stairs to a nice little square. Lovely sun trap, but will get cold as the sun goes down at around 5.00pm. Jose is Brazilian and is a nice guy. Same square, there's Marcello's. Great food, great tapas, limits number of people as he's quite selective and will only cook for a certain number. Not sure if he'll be open for a few weeks as he's broken his wrist. Fancy a Chinese? Try Palacio Imperial Marina, about another kilometre past the Puntazo on right.

It was the "Mountains under the Moon" and it's been closed since before Covid. Was a great Indian restaurant. The chef was from Leicester and a great cook, shame he closed.
