That's exactly the problem I have and it's due to being hereditary (familial). I have to eat very carefully (yes, lots of oats) but, sadly, I can't tolerate statins so I take the red yeast - and it definitely does help! But I read it's important they slso contain the CoQ10 ingredient. Here is the one I use.

There are different statins to try,the cheapest are usually prescribed,if you can’t tolerate them go back & ask to try different ones if you haven’t already done so. Good Luck.
