Hi, less a recommendation but information that i found when i renewed and may be of interest. I moved my policy from Caixa to Rightmove in Quesada based on other recommendations on here. Very easy to deal with and decent cost, I tend to believe that you don't find out how good your insurer is until you need to claim and I've been fortunate in that regard. What i did learn if its of interest to you is that kitchen and bathroom refits are categorised as 'Contents' and not 'Building', this is different to UK home insurance so the level of contents cover even for a holiday home should make provision for this kind of cost. The second thing that i learnt and addressed in my new policy is the question of water leak under your patio before the supply reaches your isolation stop cock. If you suffer such a leak, you face costs for excavating the ground/patio to reach the leak, cost to repair the pipe, and reinstate the patio, re-tiling etc. In addition to this, in particular with a holday home you may have lost significant amounts of water which you may not become aware of until a massive bill arrives. A good house insurance policy will detail the level of cover for each of these costs and it should be clear what liability wouldn't be covered by insurance. Hope this is of use if like me, you were less than 100% clear on these points.
