The Spanish are now releasing vehicle ownership details to councils etc. in the UK.
If you are in the UK driving a Spanish registered vehicle and receive a parking ticket, speeding fine or toll charge and fail to pay in the due time, they will track you with a grossly inflated fine.
A friend of mine has just been fined 75 euros for forgetting to pay the £2 Dartford bridge toll charge.

how do you get through Dartford toll without paying. ?

Keep up at the back , toll boothes were taken away last year and you now prepay [ dart tag ] or pay by phone .........!!

And how do you do that ,as it would be nice the know.yes I did no that but not how you pay.

You can pay by phone or online, in the same way as you'd pay the London Congestion charge. It's £2 for a car. You can pay in advance if you wish, you can also pay for multiple crossings in advance.
Just look up Dartford Crossing online, all the details are there.

Why they dont adopt the system that portugal uses , as you enter the country from spain , there are no toll booths anymore , you pull into a small bay and insert your credit card and your registration is logged so that as you pass thro gantrys on the system your journeya are noted . Monies are then taken from your account at the end of the month., you can also prepay by phone ,shops or post offices .

The volume of traffic on the Dartford crossing is too great to cope with the system used in Portugal, about 140,000 motorists use the bridge and tunnel each day. You can also pay the charge at some small retailers if the Payzone logo is shown, these are all over the country. The latest rates :The fee for making the Dartford Crossing has also been increased to £2.50 for a car. Two-axle goods vehicles now cost £3.00 while multi-axle goods vehicles have to pay £6.00. Motorcycles can travel for free while the crossing will continue to be free for everyone to use between 10pm and 6am. The removal of the toll booths has improved traffic flow most of the time.
Penalty charges
You’ll be sent a Penalty Charge Notice if you don’t pay by midnight on the day after you made your crossing.

The penalty charge is £70 and must be paid within 28 days. It’s reduced to £35 if you pay within 14 days and increased to £105 if you don’t pay. You also have to pay the crossing charge.

We have a UK address which is about 15 mins drive from the crossing.

£2.50 for a car? How that figure has shot up over the years, on a crossing that was to be free once the costs of construction had been recovered.
They seem to be able to inflate the cost at will. Another example of rip off Britain.
