Hi does anybody know of car hire places that pick up at airport take you to where you staying then pick you back up and return you to airport after your stay. We were hoping to use Flamenca car hire but when i tried to book they have stopped doing that service. We also need to beable to pay by cash as we don't own a credit card. Thank-you in advance Jules

I hope you get some recommendations chef lady. I know what you mean as I prefer to hire/drive from where we live and not the airport. It's a shame some places have stopped doing this service. You could ask Open car if they can help with this. If they realise you will hire from them maybe they can add on this service. http://www.Opencar.es We use them all the time as they are in Quesada and at the airport and they are very helpful...you never know.

I believe that it is Spanish law now that you have to pay by credit card with the main companies, there are a few less desirable companies out there that will take your money but beware the insurance sometimes isn't right with them.

Yes, it is perfectly reasonable to be nervous of driving to and from the airport and wanting a car to hire from where you are staying. I have done that a lot . Go for hereandthere car hire. It is a local quesada company, run by Carol and Peter Kennedy. If you have booked one of their cars to rent they will take you to and from the airport as part of the cost of hire. Email them at [email protected] Highly recommended, they we were originally recommended to me by people living here and I would never hire a car now from anyone else. Properly registered and legal company.

we use goldcar every trip and they take a debit bank card no problem, no need for a credit card.
why not hire your car from the airport its cost no more and the service is excellent, it will save a lot of time and hassle!!!

They will take cash and are fully insured and fully leagal also very reliable but book early as they get inundated in peak season.

I rented with GOLDCAR in January and got hit with a 200€ charge for damage. Goldcar didn't even contact me just took it from my credit card and first I knew was when bank contacted me. When I contacted them Goldcar sent me a pic of the damage. Fortunately I'd taken pics of scuffs to the car when I collected it as there was nobody around from Goldcar to check the car out. The pic they sent was the same damage!! I sent them my pic which was date and time stamped I told Goldar I was reporting this to my credit card company as unauthorised payment and possible fraud. A week later Goldcar refunded the 200€ charge. Always make sure you get the car checked and if there is nobody around take pics of any damage when you collect and return the car. I was fortunate I did that. I'll not be using Goldcar again!! Caveat Emptor as they say.
