hi there
from Calais I went straight across to REIMS, then down to LYON, then down to MONTPELLIER, then all along the coast through Barcelona and Valencia.
all together from my front door in surrey to my villa in Quesada 23 hrs with 2 to 3 1/2 hr to 3/4 hr stop offs.
done this route 3 times now and no problems what so ever.

Calais,Rouen, Le Mans, Bordeaux, Bayonne, San Sebastian, Pamplona, Teruel, Zaragoza, Valencia . Lower tolls then other routes

I do it in one go with toilet and fuel breaks. No traffic on any of the roads, car sat on cruise at 130kmh almost all of the way.

Calais to La Zenia is about 18 hrs

Driving over ourselves in Sept so suggestions above are very interesting . . . I have a query on a more mundane level . . .
As Tolls look to be around €100 each way, what is best option to pay these and what is process in France/Spain - are they similar? Do you pay by card or cash?
I see Eurotunnel offer a Liber-t tag that supposedly allows you to sail through tolls in France and get billed directly, similar to the Dart charge in UK anyone know if it is any good/competitive pricing?

Andy advice would be great as I am a novice on such things

Many thanks

Go for the Sanef/Liber T toll tag via Eurotunnel. I have one and you can drive through the tolls at 30kmh, a lot better if like us you drive it in one go. Therefore I am not waking up my wife or vice versa to pay the toll.
It bills to your UK bank account about 30days after you last use a toll
If you go via San Sebastian you will hit tolls till about Zaragoza, just pay for these with a card. I use my Spanish bank account debit card

Hi there We do this trip four times a year coming down to our home in Quesada for three months and have been doing it for many years The easiest quickest and cheapest is Calais to Rouen then Bordeaux then Irun (northern Spain) Pamploma then Zaragoza then the motorway down to Valencia the it depends where you are going to from there I have just booked three decent hotels in Rouen Poitiers and Zaragoza for £86.00 including breakfast !!
