Route from St Malo

Hi guys My hubby is taking the Portsmouth to St Malo ferry next week to drive out our new (well second hand) left hand drive car! I just wondered if anyone can recommend the quickest route to Quesada from the ferry please? Apologies if I'm asking something that's been asked before - I'd have a quick search on the forum by typing in 'St Malo' in the search box but didn't seem to be able to find any suggestions. When we take the ferry to Bilbao we usually do the Zaragoza route; we did the Madrid way once (when we broke down and had to hire a car from Madrid!) and we didn't like it at all, but that could have been because of the circumstances! Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Hi we took the Portsmouth to st malo route too back in October last year. You do not mention if he has time to dawdle like we did. On arriving we travelled to Limoges and visited some friends for a few days. Up sticks and drove to Carcassonne (lovely to visit) for the night. Next stop Terragona (the force of the crashing waves from the sea is awesome), the Vakencia (traffic lanes are very organised if you know which route you will be travelling on however, you can skirt outside Valencia - like the M25!!). Arrived in Guardamar del Segura (near Quesada) without any stress. We thoroughly enjoyed the 1500miles because the roads in Spain makes driving so pleasant.
Safe journey X

Hi Phyllis Sounds a lovely trip but I'm afraid he arrives on Monday morning and he's got to pick me up from Alicante on Wednesday. Would love to do your trip, perhaps when we retire! Thanks :-)

Just to say hubby loved this route and says he wants to do no other! Apparently the ship was beautiful. The only thing that makes me a little wary is not being able to check on the dogs. I understand the dogs can either go in a kennel or stay in the car and that you can go down to them around 10pm, but in the event of a bad crossing you wouldn't be allowed down at all. So potentially it could mean them being left for 13 hours! Have any of you done this trip with dogs?
