Driving Lessons

Hello, my wife would like to start driving lessons. She only has a UK provisional license. Can she take lessons with this? Also, can anyone recommend an instructor? She is a fairly nervous driver, so the instructor will need to have patience.
Thanks
Mark

UK Provisional Licence is not recognised in Spain If she goes to a Driving school they will issue the licence she needs

And takeing lessons here is a world apart from the UK , you will normally find that you share the car with at least 2 other persons and you hot seat it for your lesson, so for your 1hr period you may at best get 20mins tuition , and dont bother to ask about roundabouts because the advice given will be " if you can see a route thro, take it " irrespective of which lane to take .. best of luck ..!!!

While on the subject of roundabout. There is an interesting topic here with a diagram from the police N332 Facebook page showing the Spanish legal way to use roundabouts. It can get a bit confusing but it's better than going by word of mouth.

You can only take lessons with a qualified instructor. No driving with your hubby teaching you, I'm afraid. There are no Spanish provisional licences, either. You also have to attend theory lessons. A driving lesson will cost about €25 and the theory lessons about €30 a week for three lessons. Our neighbour recently did this and it cost her about €800 in total and she passed both the theory test and driving test first go.
The driving test was in Spanish but the driving instructor sat with her and translated. Not sure about the theory test. I'll ask if it was in Spanish only.
