Blue parking bays at Guardamar

We haven't been to Guardamar for a while, but the other day we expected to see pay and display machines near the blue parking bays. I know the blue spaces have been there for a while now but they didn't have the machines when we were last there either. Lots of cars parked there but couldn't see anywhere to pay, so didn't bother to park anywhere and came home. Can anyone explain please? Thanks.

You only have to pay "in season", when they re-install the parking meters.

The meters usually arrive 15th June till 15th September. The fines can be up to 90 euros. If you pay your fine within couple of days the fine is reduced. But not sure by how much. Payment is made at Town Hall. The blue zones are patrolled by people in blue uniforms.

Do I take it that any other colour line makings makes it free to park ?

I can confirm the ticket issuers are hard at work! received one only last week not realising they were yet in force.
Adding the 45 euros to the cost of a drink made in an expensive pint!!
