Posted: Tue Jun 27, 2017 4:27 pmThe DVLA manage tax of vehicles, but the MIB (Motor Insurers Bureau) have a database called MID which lists all vehicles; insurance details, both the police and DVLA have access to it.
You need to have insurance registered on the database and a valid MOT certificate to get vehicle tax in the UK.
