I have sold my Spanish car in the UK to a r/h car dealer who has sold it on,I need to get my insurance refunded but need to get hold of the paperwork with the new owners name on it,the garage I sold it to keeps telling me he's waiting for the paper work back from Spain, after 6 weeks there's no paperwork,is there anyone who can do this for me in Spain,I know he's sold the car on.
Thanks for any advice.

Depending on which insurance company you are with, you may be lucky to get a refund on the insurance. The car is insured in Spain, not the driver, and it is normally for the whole year. Linea Directa and Mapfre are definitely two that I know of who will not give any refund.

Linea Directa say they won't give refunds but they actually do. I sold my car 2 months into the 12 months insurance with them, not intending to replace it. They refused a refund saying it was against the law in Spain to issue a refund. So I argued. I threatened negative publicity. I continued to argue via email for three weeks.......and I got my refund for the unused part of the year. € 480. Don't take no for an answer.
