Just in case anyone is looking to renew their annual car excess insurance, we have just bought ours from Direct Car Excess Insurance through Moneysavingexpert.

We got a 20% discount by going through MSE and the cost for the year for 2 of us driving and up to 62 days car hire at one time was £31-odd. Cheaper than we paid last year!

Fair price if you can get it! Showing as £39.98 at the payment page for me...went through MSE with MSE code MSE2101.

Better price for me through insurance4carhire.com...£39.99 and 25% back through Quidco. Up to 7 extra named drivers, and less exclusions.

You have to add the code at the payment stage and it takes £8 off. I forgot about looking at Quidco though.
