Hello, the documentation of the car comprises two certificates: 'traffic permit' (in spanish 'permiso de circulación') and technical file (in spanish 'ficha técnica').

The 'permiso de circulación' can be requested through the traffic office DGT ('Dirección General de Trafico') or by using any 'Gestoria' who would charge a fee, whereas the 'technical file' through any ITV/MOT station.

This link of the DGT indicates the steps to follow to apply for the permiso. The nearest office to Ciudad Quesada I think would be in Elche.

With the 'permiso de circulación', a copy of the 'ficha técnica' can be applied at any ITV/MOT station, e.g. Torrevieja, by prior appointment.

Hope this helps.

My replacement “permiso de circulation” was issued by the DGT office in Alicante. There is a help desk as you enter from the stairs and they can direct you to the correct window. Certificate is issued same day but be prepared to wait. You do need your NIE/Residencia and Passport and I had a photocopy of the document with me which helped. I was told the best time to go was between 10 & 11AM and I was done and dusted by 1.
