Advice with buying a second hand car privately.

Hola everyone,
Please help with advice. We are considering buying a car privately from someone here in Spain and wonder how we go about doing this.
Firstly, we live in the U.K. so all our income is dealt with at home in Northern Ireland. Naturally, we have a Bank here which is used for paying suma, household bills etc., so how do we go about paying for the car? If we were buying in a garage I presume we could use our credit card and then pay for it when the bill comes in later in the month. We never keep a lot of money here in Spain so Help is urgently needed. Do we go to our ATM and keep withdrawing cash? Are you allowed to pay cash for a car to a third party?
It is clear that your local knowledge is called for....help!

Just transfer the money you need to your account call the bank tell them how much you want to collect from your account a day or two before visit bank collect the cash job done.

Make sure you get a proper bill of sale and go with the seller to do the transfer then make sure you get all documents from the seller before you pay the full amount.

Oh dear, there certainly is a lot of important information here. Cannot thank you all enough for your input.
Now,all we need to do is find the perfect car or buy a new one. We did the rounds in all the garages on the Avenue de Valencia and even went to a Elche in the hope that they would be cheaper but no such luck. We have narrowed it down to a couple that we liked but when you are working on a budget, you don’t really get the car you want. All the cars we looked at are not the smallest but not far off them! Not being used to driving a small car ,it worries me a little about the safety issues.
Anyway, thanks to one and all. I will update you if and when the final decision is made.

On your last point, yes you can pay cash if the transaction is between two private individuals. If one of them is a professional (eg car dealer) then you can't pay in cash if the item is over €1,000.

I just bought a car from citreon dealer in torrivejca
Paid cash deposit then transferred cash from uk to dealers bank via currencies direct.
Only needed NIE , water bill with address on it , and passport....they sorted transfer out

BTW I drew €1000 out at the caxia card machine from Spanish bank account....not sure what the limit is but higher than uk cash machines .

Guess you could transfer money to private seller in same way via a currency company

You can normally draw €500 twice a day from most bank ATMs.
