Hi All,

We will be driving to Spain from Scotland via Santander ferry, which documents do I legally need to carry in my UK registered vehicle whist driving in Spain.

Many thanks

Jim

Logbook, insurance, MOT if applicable, driving licence and passport. I would also keep your ferry crossing ticket to prove date of entry for 3 month rule.
Plus 2x warning triangles & hi vis per person.

You forgot the dog license, the video club card, Tesco loyalty card, swimming certificate, GCSE results, bus pass, report from your chiropodist, glasses... and a "brown envelope"...

(just joking)

On a more serious note just in case you don,t know never leave anything in view inside the car especially when on route through France and Spain just don,t be the odd one never leave you vehicle unmarked and don,t stop on the motorway for somebody flashing you down simple rules save any inconvenience,it's not that bad really just commonsence

Hi All,

Thanks for the response ( and humour) that me sorted then. We will be driving down from Santander, any tips on that route would be appreciated, will definitely not be leaving the vehicle unattended or picking up any hitchhikes.

Thanks all

Jim

Santander - Burgos - Madrid (make sure you use the R2/R3 ring road around Madrid about 2 euro toll) Albacete - Elche = Quesada.
That's the quickest and least congested route. Should take 8 and half to 9 hours with a couple of stops.
You can go via Zaragoza after Burgos which means going to Bilbao and the AP6 for about 28 euro toll and it can get quite congested around Valencia.
Apart from close to the towns, the rest of the route is pretty empty and all good motorway quality roads.
