Hi
has anyone imported a car from Germany to spain. is it a waste of time and I have been looking and there is some good Second-hand Mercedes for sale. I guess there is pitfalls or is this possible and. I know you have to transfer the plates. but. just like to know. thanks. most helpful advice. welcome.

The milage is low well not bad and the price is very good which I would expect from Germany and I guess there is a lot for sale.

Not from Germany but in the process of importing one from Holland, need to pay import tax etc BUT IMO still getting better second hand vehicle than buying local. Have got a local company to arrange the import paperwork and testing. Think it’s a good shout personally

Be careful as most of the cars that come from Holland and Germany are ex taxie's and the mileage has been adjusted

I'd recommend talking with David at Specialist Vehicles in San Javier.
He imports cars from Germany, Belgium etc. and has some excellent reviews.
I recently sold him my Mercedes cls, and David was a pleasure to deal with

I have a new Hyundaio Tucson imported from Germany by David - as have been all my cars - no probs at all apart from getting the owners manual in English and that wasn't a real prob. David is totally genuine and has never let us down. We did have a prob once, just out of warranty, and he sorted it anyway.

By the way if anyone wants to buy a Spanish owners manual pm me!

I bought from Germany because a certain 'high end' garage in San Fulgencio sold me a car that had been clocked by nearly 100,000km. So in the end I said to myself if I'm buying a German car I'm buying from a German main dealer in Germany. That's what I did. I tried twice to buy from two other garages in Germany that were Turkish owned (as it turns out it seems the Turks are now the main 2nd hand car dealers) and both times the service books never matched. So in the end I got a higher spec car, guaranteed and all in worked out the same price as if I bought in Spain. Plus I had a good holiday and trip too.
