Hi all, need some help,I am in the UK just now can I drive my dad's car here using my fully comp Spanish insurance. The car needs a good run as my dad can no longer drive, thanking you all in advance.

You would need to check your individual policy . . Most insurance in Spain covers the specified vehicle, not the person (hence why most policies allow any driver for the vehicle) so probably not . .

No you can not drive another car on your Spanish insurance, but you may be able to be included on your dads insurance policy

Thanks for your quick response,it's what I thought too,asked my dad to add me to his car insurance but typically to tight lol

There should only be a small amount if he does add you, not much point in him having a car is there .

Beware if you have a spanish licence you might not be able to get covered,if he adds you on uk insurance

No reason why not a Spanish licence is legal all over the EU and the UK is still bound by EU rules

I agree with Jpeg. I used to work for a car insurance company in the UK and all EU licences were accepted.

Search for temporary car insurance.
there are many sites that offer short term insurance and it's not as expensive as you might think.

You could get added to your dads insurance for a week or two at minimal cost - depending on license endorsements
