Our Spanish driving licences have expired. Is there still somewhere in Rojales we can get them renewed and do we need to have an appointment please?

You need to go to Torrveija, to the Clinic behind the blue fountains, make an appointment and they will do the test, and send everything off to the DGT for you.

The centre in Rojales is just around the corner from the little florists as you leave Rojales heading towards dia & mas y mas, it is on the first floor of an apartment block & there is a small sign on the wall by the door. As far as i remember it only opens Thursdays from 1700h to 1900h & no appointment needed.
Hope this helps,
Dave

I have come to live full time in Spain (Cabo Roig) and just got my Padron. Is that sufficient to change my Uk licence for a Spanish one. I think I may need a medical as well, as I am 70 in January. Can you recommend someone to help me through the process, as I don’t yet have any Spanish.
Thanks,
Ed

You need the following documents:
Passport
Residency card
Driving Licence
Passport sized photograph
An application form which you can get online or from trafico
The fee payment form (currently just over €26) which you can also get online or from trafico
A medical test

You then need to book an appointment with trafico (Elche is closest but Alicante or Orihuela may have more appointments) which is done online.

Once you have your appointment and taken all the above with you, trafico will give you your driving licence back along with a form saying you have applied to change it.
Some time later (usually in a week or two but be prepared to wait) they will get confirmation of your licence details from DVLA UK and will call you forward again. They will then take the licence off you and issue you a temporary paper licence which is valid in Spain only.
A week or so later your new Spanish driving licence will arrive in the post.

If you can't speak Spanish very well then you may need the help of a gestor or agent who will do it for you (for a charge). Matt at one way services near Goyo restaurant in town (by the municipal town hall) comes highly recommended.

There's a small office at Almoradi! On right hand side on main road going into town from Daya Neuva by traffic lights. It says 'Drivers' outside in big letters. Its on the first floor up stairs. Its only open certain days, I think we went on a Wednesday at 4pm (not open earlier). You dont need an appointment. They do everything including photos. Got our licences within 3 weeks.

Was that for exchanging from a UK to a Spanish one or for a renewal of an existing one?
