Hola,
You must be very excited about your forthcoming move to Spain.
I wonder if you are aware that when you purchase a car in Spain, you cannot have it registered until you get an NIE tragico certificate. We decided to buy a car in February this year and when asked for out NIE,we were able to give it to the proprietor of the garage. We little realised that this was not sufficient. We had to contact our solicitor who put the wheels into motion for us. You have to go online to get an appointment, you must have photographs taken and your solicitor will provide you with the necessary paperwork for you to take to the Sabatel bank along with less than €10 to pay it and to have it authorised. There may be a 2 to 3 month waiting period. Check this out immediately or you will not be getting your new car in September. Our solicitor helped us and we managed to get our certificate within 10 days but it was not an easy task. You may be fortunate to have already owned a car in Spain and that being the case, you will have your certificate. Everything has changed and once the police have all of your relevant information online, they will be able to check you out immediately if you are stopped by running a check on your car’s number plate..
We went along to every garage on the Avenida de Valencia in Torrevieja and all of the demo cars had 30,000 miles on the clocks and were 9 months old which left the guarantee 9 months short. We went to Elche ( avenue de Crevillante) lots of garages selling all of the usual cars. We decided to go to the Renault garage as we were keen to source a Dacia which is made by Renault in Hungary and costs a great deal less than other cars. They had a huge selection of vehicles in stock which allows for a trial drive. We bought a Dacia Stepway brand new with sat nav and every extra included as it was a limited edition for €11,600 taxed and on the road. We are absolutely delighted with it. The Dacia Duster is bigger and looks super, would probably be perfect for you...well worth a visit. We dealt with Francisco who spoke enough English and was a gentleman. Good luck.

Hi and thank you. Yes we do know about the NIE process.
We have looked at Dacia Dusters and love them but they don’t do them in an Automatic with I need due to a back problem. They are amazing cars.
Thanks for your advice
