They have to be the same rating for speed and braking over here. Some makes of tyres have different braking distances so, over time, it has become the same make on each axle. As long as all tyres are the minimum rating as shown on your ficha tecnica then they are OK.
Trouble is, like all things over here, it depends on who you get doing the testing. I have heard of some people who have had the ITV done and failed because of different makes yet others who have said it was not problem.
Mind you, you'll also get people saying your spare tyre has to be the same which is not correct as loads of cars don't even have spares now or just a mini-tyre so that must be wrong.

Plus, if you have a bad blowout and need to get a new tyre, what happens if the dealer doesn't have the correct make in stock but does have one with the same rating?
