Driving to Santander for the first time tomorrow - my tomtom / waze and google maps say there is a 2 min saving going on this toll road for about 85km.

Is it worth taking it for 2 mins and if so is it pay kiosks or is it a vehicle numberplate recognition system where you go on line after the event? Would prefer to pay and know it is done TIA

It costs less than 2 euro and the M50 (which is a local road) takes you to the R2/R3 roads which is the Madrid ring road. Very well worth taking and will cut out all the traffic jams in Madrid.
You pay, either cash or credit card.
Come off at the exit for the A1 (motorway non toll) to Burgos.

Excellent - thank you very much indeed.
