does anyone keep their car at the airport?only come over a few times per year but looking at buying car & parking at airport when not in Quesada.
parking cost seem to work out much the same as hiring a car each time.
trying to weigh up cost of keeping a car against hiring each time, taking into account insurance, upkeep etc
any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi meg20 ,
You may have seen some of our other topics on this subject but here's one that may be of interest. Hope it helps:

Hi Meg

We used to leave ours at the airport but we had a bad experience when we arrived one time to find it had been broken into. The side window had been smashed and the radio / cd player had been ripped out of the dashboard. The guys at the parking place were very unhelpful and really just not interested about it. They just said 'Yeah, there was about 15 cars done the other week'.

They said they had tried to phone me but had been calling the Spanish number they had rather than our English one. They seemed surprised no-one had answered the Spanish one even when I pointed out that the fact they had my car should tell them I wasn't in Spain!

We now leave the car at the house in Quesada and thankfully we have very good neighbours who come to collect us in it from the airport.

Not a good idea to name them on a public forum - Also every hire company, parking companies or any company can have problems now and again - We like the forum to stay positive, with recommendations only.

Hopefully all will be well - We have passed quite a few of the airport parking lots on the way to pick up, or take back, our hire car to the 'Open Car' parking area and the ones we've seen, including Open Car, are securely gated and there have been some recommendations and good reports of the long term parking companies on here before.

If you put "airport parking" into the search box, top right, there are quite a few topics and posts about the long term parking, once you sift through the 'not quite so relevant' topics that may come up.

hi

i have just signed up with a company for a year at a cost of 250euro. 1 min from the departure/pickup and seem very professional. i only went to them because my neighbour has been using them for 2 years now wuth no problems what so ever.
i was a bit worried about doing this but i looked into this company, the site is managed 24/7 with good security and they are very polite. you ring them when you land and by the time you are out of arrivals, they are waiting for you. you have to make your way up to the top floor which is the drop off level, this is where they pick you up.
i will be using them from may so i will let you know how it all went.
