Oh so true Mr Stokes! Lack of indicators and poor lane observance make every roundabout an accident just waiting to happen! I’ve said it several times before, the driving in Spain is just awful.

Agreed with both. It's so easy to indicate but, most drivers don't and I think I read once that it was a law. So much easier and helpful too. Well back to todays speeding drivers and I would guess 50-60Kmh up and down the road is pretty accurate. The noise before they reach you and the pollution they create senselessly I bet they would not like it passing their house. The roundabout overtaking lane is hit or miss literally as the nearside lane is allowed to go around the roundabout. Not many stop on a legally signposted pedestrian crossing here, or they can't and somebody told me once it was jail if you hit someone using a crossing. What's the hurry to speed in a nice warm and sunny country, chill out and drive responsibly and stop racing to catch the car in front.

I've been driving in Spain since Franco was the head honcho. There used to be a time when a driver would be fined for not using the indicator when returning to the nearside lane after overtaking. Also if you were slow to dip your headlights to an oncoming Guardia civil car,you would be fined for that too.
I would add too that some of us Brits are not necessarily impressive.

Yes indeed.Heavy truck drivers used to help out car drivers in that way.I'm not sure how it passed out of fashion.Perhaps when Spain joined the EU the older slower trucks were replaced and the road network received a huge investment for improvement. For example, the motorway which now stretches from Sagunto to Zaragoza and beyond,in the late 1980s was still single carriageway with parts having a packed earth surface, not tarmaced and certainly no villages by passed.
