First time drivers Bilbao to Quesada - Advice please

My husband and will be driving from Bilbao to Quesada for the first time in few weeks. We will have elderly parents with us (84 and 85) and will need several stops for comfort breaks for them and obviously fuel.
Advice on route and stops will be much appreciated.

There are several different routes which are dual carriageway almost,if not all,the way.I assume you follow a sat nav.If you travel via Madrid use the M50 which is the most easterly ring road.Avoid roads marked "peage" for no toll driving.Spain is better equipped than the UK for refreshment stops.They are numerous.
