Our car is due it's ITV at the end of the month.
Can anyone recall what's the name of the additive for a diesel car?
Where to buy and does it work?
Regards,
Andrew

There are a load of diesel additives that mix with the diesel fuel to cut down NOx emissions.
If you search on Amazon they will come up with loads and you can then do a review on each one.

My diesel has a separate filler for Ad blue but, although Carrefour sell it and call it a diesel additive, it is not. It cannot be mixed with diesel fuel as it is an exhaust limiter type thing which does the same but does not mix. If I run out of Adblue, it puts the car into "limp" mode and the car won't start after that.

Do they work? Probably. If you only have one filler for the diesel, make sure it is actually an additive.

I used to use a Cetane Booster in UK which was to improve the car lubrication and cut down exhaust emissions. Don't know if you can get it here but it was quite cheap at about twelve quid which treated 1,000 litres of fuel (or so the blurb said).

There's a blast from the past,Big Wheeler.
I remember being in my Auntie's car and her asking for three shots of Redex(in the car).
That was a Standard 8.!

I used to put a tablespoon of melted Vaseline in the tank of my racing MGJ2

Redex was good for sticky valves, a shot in the carb was a bit smokey but it worked.

Oops! I may have let my age slip there.
I used to use redex in my Ford Consul mark one. You'll remember those ,lads(Nod nod.wink wink) with their steering column gear change and front bench seat!
