Anyone moving to Spain from now on Can drive for 6 months on their English (UK) Licence, after the 6 months they must now take a Spanish Driving Test and Theoretical/medical test.
This is a result of the Brexit deal.

This could possibly be a deal breaker on a move to Spain.
Previously an English licence could be exchanged for a Spanish licence with a medical test, eyesight test and coordination test.

The information also mentions that “You cannot use an International Driving Permit” instead.

Yay! We can thread drift this one to Scottish independence in a few posts as well.

From what I read it is a Brexit decision which is UK wide.

The normal licence is covers the whole of the UK and Europe till Brexit came along. As Marcliff alludes wee Nicola in Edinburgh will want Scotland to have its own but only IF they get independence AND are accepted into the EU. And I can't see that happening. PS I'm a Scot

If your desire to move to Spain is affected by having to do a drivers test then maybe you should reconsider if you actually really desire to move there anyway? Just a thought.

I believe whoever made up this new rule did not realise the effect it could have on the house and car sales!

Brexit - the gift that keeps giving.

However, don't let the thought of an easy driving and theory test put you off moving to Spain.

Best worry about the NLV issues firstly folks.
