Dover to Quesada, no problems!

We have just driven from Dover to Quesada with our dog.

New dog passport from the vet cost £167, old UK passport was no longer valid in the EU.
Printed out NHS COVID Passport - Vaccinated, plus a copy on our iPhones.
Printed out Sworn Undertaking To Comply With Rules For Entry Into Metropolitan French Territory From Amber List Countries.

This was all checked by French Border Control at Dover and the dog's microchip read. Passports were date stamped.

Ferry was almost empty apart from freight trucks.

No checks at Calais, drove straight through.

Stayed at 2 IBIS Hotels in France, again no checks. Restaurants scanned our COVID Passports.

No checks at French - Spanish Border, drove straight through.

Hope this helps anyone else travelling south.

Great to back in Quesada again.

Hi

How long does the new passport for your dog last
Also did you have to show proof of a negative covid test taken within the last 48 hours.

regards

Pete

Ibis hotels in Chalons en Champagne and Perpignan Sud. Both ok but no restaurants! We did Dover Calais so it's Four hours day one, eight hours day two then final leg took about six hours. Glad to be here, tiring journey.

It's not a new dog passport from UK. Will need to get Spanish pet passport for future trips otherwise the paperwork for dog at Vets in UK covers single trip!

Hi ray-pc

We normally drive to Folkestone and get Eurotunnel around 8pm and stay at Ibis near the ferry terminal nice food then set off next morning and drive to Irun and stay in the Urbanitia Hotel very reasonable rates then next morning a 6 hour drive down to sunny Quesada, we had 3 dogs and no probs with these hotels

Hope this suggestion gives you another option
Best
Archie
