Good morning, we are planning on driving down to our house this summer in Quesada. my car is a 2011 diesel Cmax. Will I need a sticker to enter Torrevieja? If so, how do I check if my car is compliant and what is the process to get the sticker. I did find the website that checks, but it will not accept the UK reg. Many thanks in advance

Foreign registered cars cannot be issued a sticker. Nobody knows how it will work in Torrevieja but Barcelona has a scheme to apply for a daily pass.
This article EWN says you can apply for a daily pass with the DGT but, as Torrevieja and other citiies in the Valencia Region haven't even designated areas or put in the cameras as yet it would be pointless doing so.

The zones will be in operation by the end of the year but it is not known when. I'm sure it'll be published when it is announced.

It will only be certain areas of Torrevieja and seems to be along the sea front and streets running back from there. The areas proposed are quite a small bit and will certainly not cover all of Torrevieja.

Google search reveals:

Can I drive a diesel car in Barcelona?
Generally speaking, gasoline cars and motorbikes registered after the year 2000 and diesel cars, vans, RVs, lorries, coaches and buses registered after 2006 are allowed to circulate in the Barcelona Low Emissions zone at any time.

Sheriff was asking about his UK registered car getting a sticker. Regardless of whether the car is allowed or not, not displaying a sticker can lead to a €90 fine.

Two part enquiry
1. compliance
2. sticker
