I am selling my car privately, could some please explain the procedure to me. I understand that I have to go somewhere with the buyer to sign papers. Is there a place close to Quesada, and what roughly is the charge.

Just make sure that you get the transfer done correctly, I took mine to a local garage where i sold it.
They managed to sell it on and didn't complete the paperwork of the transfer.
Two years and five speeding tickets later in Elche and area all addressed to me.
In fairness the garage paid all the fines . We even placed a denuncia on the car ,meaning that the policia were to quarantine the car . They managed to stop the driver a couple of times and didn't enforce the denuncia. After 2 and half years the journey ended when the policia finally apprehended the driver. There are people that will do this transfer for you and i think they are worth every euro to give you peace of mind

It really isn't that difficult and no, you don't have to leave the comfort of your home if you don't want to, it can be done by the two parties on the kitchen table in 10 minutes.

Once again the MiDGT app comes to the fore because when a transfer takes place the vehicle automatically disappears from the app confirming that the new owner has done the deed. Normally that would happen within a few days although from memory there is a 14 or possibly 28 day window for the new owner to complete the process.

If it doesn't disappear from the app within that period that's when you know something has gone wrong and you start asking questions and if necessary visit DGT and personally register the transfer.
