Hi all, I am sure I know the answer to this one but just wanted some confirmation.
Is it illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving in Spain?
I only ask due to the amount of times I have seen people speaking, texting, playing candy crush, taking selfies etc. I just find it frustrating that when you manage to narrowly avoid hitting them they look at you as though you are in the wrong.
Anyway, safe driving and be careful out there.

Hi Chrissie,
I'm sure it must be illegal but even in the UK it is scary how many people still risk peoples lives by doing it....and I have seen them texting while driving too which is extremely dangerous. I think there should be adverts telling people who do this about the penalties for killing someone while using a mobile phone in the car - The call or text can be traced and the driver would no doubt go to prison.

You can ask this question on the brilliant N332 facebook page and there are some very helpful English speaking police officers on there who answer these type of questions:

Yes, it is illegal. As is using the controls on a satnav whilst driving. However, there are many, ,many people all over (UK as well as Spain) that do it. In UK, it is also an offence to use a mobile phone whilst supervising a learner driver.
