Yes, I agree Google maps is probably more accurate but using it frequently you'd need a good data allowance (or a fat wallet)

The best option in my opinion is to use "Here" maps app on any android smartphone. I have had both Tom Tom and Garmin over the years but the "Here" maps app is the handiest (and cheapest-free) to use. With this app you download the maps of the region you want and then don't use any data for the sat-nav (make sure you turn "online mapping" off). This is a free app available on the Android store.

My Tom tom failed 2 weeks out off guarantee. Replaced with a Garmin. Works well for all Europe and esp good if you get coordinates, gets within 10m.
Anywhere nice then a where am I? And put coordinates into favourites and easy found again.
Warning though don't put home in as home - call it SAMs bar or...
I saw report of Range Rover "nicked" in UK from a show site - driven Home - house done over too. Neighbourghs never bothered as it was the right vehicle outside.

"I only ever use my iphone" I`m afraid my 10 year-old Nokia is only use for text messages (which it does very well) Get a Garmin.

I use a Garmin that I got about 3 years ago, while I still lived in UK it has all the western Europe maps and updates regularly. I've never got lost yet. Plus there's the added entertainment value of how the lady who lives in my satnav pronounces the street names :-)

The Navmi I mentioned early is completely free to use and doesn't use any date as it works on the GPS within the phone. I've used it wherever I've been even India. Just used it travelling from UK to Spain too. Spot on. Wouldn't use anything else.
