Anyone recommend Rio Safari Elche?

Have some young people visiting Easter. Fancy cuddling a monkey, makes a change from the missus, sorry Jan your probably have to strike that
'
Anybody reccomend or not.

It's a good day out. They've cleaned it up a bit and the animals appear better looked after than a few years ago. My grandkids loved it, especially the snakes round their necks. I used to feel a bit sorry for the elephant by itself made to do tricks but apparently it's not there anymore. Sea lion show, parrot show and others are all good but make sure you check the times. Cafe in the middle is not too expensive for drinks and sandwiches. You can swim with sea lions but a bit expensive and not sure if the weather will be fine at Easter. Camel and donkey rides.
Good swimming pool (included in ticket price) for after but, again, may not be open at Easter.
You can get discount vouchers from the tourist offices, some hotels, sometimes at the markets and online.

We went a couple of weeks ago with my 5 year old grandson and he loved it. We also enjoyed it. Worth a visit

We went 2 years ago and was a waste of money, 48 euro for 2 of us the place was dirty and we walked round it in less than one hour, best thing was a cup of tea we had. if you have been to longleat, no contest as that's how a park should be run.

We went last summer with 3 year old twins-they loved it, but make sure you obtain the discount tickets they offer a worthwhile discount.

If you have little ones and grand children visiting this Easter Rio Safari with all its animals is a winner but if you are looking to do something additional and related to Easter Casa la Pedrera Activity Centre are hosting their very popular Easter Egg Hunts from Fri 3 - Monday 6 of April within the grounds of the Grand Design House. It is a fun hunt where you follow in the Easter Bunny's footsteps and pick up treats and clues among the way which is designed to do as a family. You can also combine it with a pony or a quad ride. We visited just last Tuesday 24th Feb with 3 grandchildren and our daughter and SIL. It was a fabulous day out for us all. The very first thing you need to do is get onto their website and print off the half price discount tickets. Adult prices only 11 euros instead of 22 and I think children were 8 instead of 16. Under 4's are free.
I would say that the name is slightly misleading in that it is more of a zoo rather than a safari park like Longleat, Windsor or East Midlands. If using a Satnav you might find it under Zoo's rather than Parks etc.
The one thing I personally didn't like was the insistence to buy photos, key rings, fridge magnets etc. As we went through the admission gate we were approached by a girl with a snake asking if we wanted to hold it. Once it was draped around my daughters neck she then asked if she wanted a family photo, obviously she was at a disadvantage then as the children were hooked! It cost 7 or 8 euros.
The same thing happened after the Zoom exhibition, where there were various animals and birds doing things. Again, to have a photo with the owl was an extra cost. You are told not to take your own photos.
When you board the train to go on the 'safari' part of the day, again photos are taken that are then reproduced onto keyrings and magnets for you to buy as you get off.
Those are the worst points as far as we were concerned.
On the plus side, it was quite quiet when we went, we had the whole picnic area to ourselves! There was a school trip on whilst we were there otherwise there'd only have been 2 dozen people there!
There is a lot of construction going on for various enclosures but it didn't detract from exploring the various regions. The tigers have got to be my personal favourites.
We were also the only customers in the middle cafe area, where we had a lovely coffee and ice cream for the children.
It was a great day out!!!

I was hoping to take 2 and 5 year old girls to Rio Safari Elche on 4th April 2016. Is it worth a visit? Will it definitely be open? and how do we get discounted tickets?

Yes, it will be open. You can get discount tickets from stalls at Zoco market or Zenia Boulevard or any of the tourist offices. You can get discount tickets on line at their website but it's only 4 euro off whereas the market ones give over twice that.
