Bad storm last night! - November

A lot of damage in the Lo Marabu area of Doña Pepa - many houses have lost roof tiles etc. & had some flood damage.

Our friends who live in the next street to us have had their satellite dish, bracket & bolts ripped off their chimney during the storm & the entire dish has lodged itself on a neighbour's roof.
We can see 3 large holes on their chimney where the dish used to be.

1 of the mustard coloured properties on Avda. Jorge Martinez facing the CV-905 is now missing its extended chimney on the front of the house. It was demolished during the storm. Caused a lot of damage. Builders are there clearing up. Not sure whether the wind caused this or it took a direct hit from the lightning.

Also told the Hotel Laguna Spa car park has been wrecked (the overhead canopies I think).

Lots of damage everywhere - the place looks like a bomb has hit it.

Oh dear! I do hope that the house I'll be renting is ok! The owner is only going out there this weekend!

Does anyone live near Calle Don Juan Tenorio, off Av Garcia Rubira in Quesada? Would like to know if there were any damages around there. There is an open property across the road, and that's usually not a good thing as winds can really pick up speed with nothing to stop them.

Hope everyone is ok though.

Hi Chrissie,
I live on Garcia Rubira, haven't noticed a lot of damage down our street, but my tv wont work (think the dish has moved) it was a really bad storm. My hubby went up to the country club for his hair cut yesterday, and said it was a right mess. the huge sign had blown down, no electric and the pool was full of tables and chairs. ive only lived here 2 weeks so not great with the area yet, but if you would like to message me directions to where you live then I would be more than happy to have a walk round and get back to you ref damage. I hope your property is ok though

:text-thankyouyellow:

That's very good of you to offer!

Also everyone who has posted on here. Thank you too. There are many of us who are not in Spain and it's good to have updates like this.

Hi Dawn and/or Rob...

Thanks, and cool we will be almost neighbours. I would love to tell you which is the property I'm moving into, but I don't really know what it looks like yet... I am arriving in 3 weeks time, but only have photos and an address. The owner is a fellow South African acquaintance who now lives in Ireland, so he asked if I would like to house sit and live there when I'm not off working on assignment in England.

If I pm you the address he gave me, then maybe you could let me know what condition the house is in. It has been empty for almost a year! I just hope it's in reasonable shape.

Chrissie,
I cant find it. I have found calle san jose. about 1 minute from me. there is like a park across the road. ive looked anyway and I cant see any damage anywhere. the properties look nearly the same as mine, and to be honest they are lovely.
my friend coming for me in the morning so I will get her to put your addy in to the sat nav, and see if we get anywhere with that. but I have walked the whole of Garcia rubira. (long flipping street lol) and looked at each sign to no avail, I think it may be san jose, but bear with me and I will be back intouch sometime tomorrow, don't worry too much though as if there were any damages your landlord would of been there to sort out,
keep in touch, and if you need any more help prior to your arrival just give me a shout.
