There's a chance of a Medicane - a med hurricane tomorrow all along the gulf of Valencia. I don't know how to upload the weather picture, but it could be dangerous, so batten down the hatches!

Is that the same as a Gota fria which can sometime happen this time of year in Spain, where the hot air meets the cold air and very heavy rain occurs with flooding?
The forecast shows 80% chance of rain/storm on Thursday on the Alicante forecast but tomorrow is showing 29C and sunny with the other days this week showing a lesser chance of rain than Thursday.
However, we all know that forecasts are not always correct.

Are you sure it is the Spanish Valencian coast and not California?

Pretty spectacular light show out there at the moment. We tend to get one every couple of years.

Well !!!! how right was that forecast!!! thought the roof was coming off the house, just the date! was last night Monday but it was early hours, so I suppose you could say it was Tuesday, my garden look like a hurricane has been through it, and the rain has filled the pool to overflowing,, all of the street lights were off all night, noticed the car park by the arches is full of water as normal, but now, you would never have thought we had a night like it,,, sun out and all is well, don't want another storm like that for a while please.

Last night we were in the thick of it too - Almoradi, cloud closed in - looked like it was almost as low as the roof - rain came in sideways through all the vents, very high winds and hailstones hard for an hour.
Expected cars to be damaged which was fortunately not the case. Lightning flashing very nearby for a couple of hours with electrics going on and off.
Felt like we were in the eye of a hurricane or certainly nearer than I would have liked, trees bent over nearly in half and a very nervous dog. No apparent damage, though would not be surprised if a roof tile or two people may be missing.
Back to a sunny cloudless sky now though...Was half expect the tsunami to appear last night in the middle of it all. Scary!
My neighbour left his skylight open, but was scared to go outside to close it - so ended up with a lounge half full of ice / hailstones!

Woo-hooo! That was an absolute doozie wasn't it? The farmers will be dancing in the streets this morning.
No damage to my house thankfully but still have no phone connection and t'internet just back on.
Enjoying the sunshine again now. If the UK had been like this I'd never have left.

Totally horrendous. We forgot we'd left a small window open in an upstairs bathroom, hailstones pounded in through that, shot across the width of the bath, hit the tiled floor then went everywhere, through the open door onto the landing. The NOISE!!! Some hailstones were as large as some of the ice chunks we've had served in glasses when we have ordered cans of soft drinks! No internet, no phone, no TV, thankfully we did have lights.

Mercifully it wasn't a true hurricane - but bad enough. We were in Elche at lunchtime today and day turned to night with a huge storm which knocked out all the traffic lights. We are at risk of heavy weather for the next few days, but provided no one gets hurt, I love it after the boredom of the high temperatures and humidity of the past few weeks.

Get rid of it before I arrive Sunday. I want shorts and deckchair weather.
