Finally the weather improves

Finally the weather improves

Postby DO2ES » Thu Mar 02, 2023 9:03 am

It's looking like the weather is going to improve from next week. Hitting the low 20's from Monday, reaching up to 27c after a few days!

Since mid January the weather has been so disappointing on the whole. We moved to the Peninsula around July and every month of 2022 was a record breaking month, 26c on Christmas day! So it was quite a shock when the cold weather kicked in and has remained on the whole ever since.

Night time temps moving from this weeks 1 - 3c range, increasing to a much more enjoyable 10 - 13c.

We did moan a a fair bit in the summer, as we were not prepared physically or mentally for the 44c we experienced, but after this cold, I think we are ready for the heat. Looking forward to putting the blankets and hot water bottles away while watching TV at night!

Wait until Easter is out of the way, the past few Easter’s have been really grim.

Before the summer arrives, you got the wet and windy season to get through.That’s when the records started breaking last year.March April and May were the wettest on record.

Or in Spain:-
“Hasta el cuarenta de mayo
no te quites el sayo;
Y si vuelve a llover,
vuélvetelo a poner. ”
i.e Don't cast off outer clothes until the 40th May & put them on again if it rains.
