Are there any budding Mary Berry's or Paul Hollywood's out there that can tell me which are the best shops to purchase cake baking ingredients. I have promised a friend my much loved carrot cake but so far havn't seen any of the ingredients i would need.

I think you can buy most of or all ingredients in Mercadona or any supermarket for that cake

I usually go to Iceland in Torrevieja it’s a bit more costly but I get the ingredients I’m used too. BeRo flour etc

Thanks for the replys. I thought it would probably be Iceland and i haven't tried Mercadona yet.

Hi I have found that consum sell really good quality flour in there both Plain& self raising great the plain makes absolutely great Yorkshire pudding!only a euro for a kilo. Happy baking. Jules

You could always try pick n pay in guardamar. They have all English ingredients.

Hi. Ive got all the ingredients now thanks to everyone for the tips, even got the cake carrier in Ikea, I must say though this is going to be the most expensive carrot cake ever! Just hope the oven behaves.

Surely, flour, eggs, milk, carrots etc, the most basic ingredients, are available at all supermarkets
Why buy Uk made products ?

Hi Jules. Apparently plain flour is harina comun, but i couldnt find one with that name so ended up buying mcdougalls in iceland. Could you tell me please what it is called in consum for future reference. Thanks
