Building materials

Postby diggers2102 » Wed Oct 18, 2023 7:01 pm

We own one of the blue top apartments on the Buenavista Golf development near Rojales. During a recent redecoration, while sanding the balustrade on the balcony in preparation for painting, the whole piece broke apart. We are in the UK and our decorator is trying to source replacements, thus far without success. I know they have been built a while now, but given the number of properties of this type I would have thought there must be a stockist somewhere able to supply. Has anyone else been through this experience and have any ideas where he can try?

Just as clarification it is the top rails that are breaking up, probably as a result of long term neglect and weathering.

Try the diy merchants behind auto direct at San Miguel, they usually have lots of balustrades in stock.

There is a large unit by the school near the caves in Rojales that makes them. If you take a small cross section, the will mould the exact size you need. I had some made up, I think it was around €15 per mtr.

Thanks Suzi. I'll suggest that to our decorator.

Thanks Mart 63. I believe our decorator has tried there, but because it is only a relatively small section, about 1.0m, they won't do it. :(
