Buttermilk

Buttermilk

Postby apricorncup17 » Sat Dec 02, 2023 12:58 pm

I’m thinking of making my own KFC mix and wanted to know if there is buttermilk or equivalent here, when marinating the chicken beforehand. Any help and ideas welcomed as usual, thank you. Also, am I right in thinking the stall at Zoco market has a wide range of herbs and spices?

Hi
You can make your own just over beat double cream until it turns to butter squeeze the solid and keep the liquid (buttermilk) then wash the butter in clean water a couple of times remove the water and put it in the fridge

I get all my herbs and spices from the guy in Lemon tree market
7 large trays for 6€

I just use milk with lemon juice to make my buttermilk. Works perfectly

Good luck

We get ours from Carrefour. Did not know other supermarkets had it. Will have to look. 1 euro 79 a liter bottle.

I also make my own buttermilk this way for my soda bread and it works a treat. It's easy to find the recipe online.
Have fun :-)
