Buying large item from Conforama?
Buying large item from Conforama?
by Wendycot » Fri Oct 14, 2016 1:40 pm
Has anyone bought a sofa bed/chaise longue from Conforama? There online catalogue shows really good prices, but not sure about quality? Also how long delivery takes for this sort of thing. In UK delivery can be anything from 4 to 12 weeks, but we need something sorted by Christmas, and are only out in our Spanish place once before then in mid November. Any suggestions for the best way to sort this out?

It's like MFI and has a store house next door. When you buy the item, there will be a date and time on the receipt that tells you when it will be available for collection. If in stock, that could be fairly quickly otherwise it will have to come from a central warehouse (Alicante, I think). You can also arrange delivery at the same time and it will be dependent on the availability but shouldn't take more than a few days. You will have to pay for delivery which, I think, is about €25 from there to this area.
Other shops have items in stock and will deliver either the same day or the next afternoon but always ask. Hnos Garcia will deliver free of charge and everything we've bought (except one) has been delivered same day or next day. The only item we had to order was a non-standard size mattress which they said would take two weeks but was actually delivered 3 days later.

Personally, I wouldn't buy any furniture from Conforama or Garcia for that matter. You get what you pay for I suppose. You may be better off looking in Almoradi at all the furniture shops there and you may get lucky if they have stock items. We bought ours in Almoradi and although it came from Italy the wait was only about 6 weeks so not too bad and not as long as Uk

I agree with the previous two posts. We bought a cupboard unit there and had all sorts of problems. Bought our two sofas from the sofa and bed shop in Dona Pepa (behind Lidl) and they were very good. Our sofas were made for us in the fabric we wanted- took about a month. Reasonably sure they would have sofa beds which would be reasonably priced but possibly not cheap.

Be aware, One of my friends bought two beds from Conforama and they turned up without any legs, rang the shop and were told that they sell the legs separately (!!!!!!!!) cost an extra 24€ each bed. Interestingly enough the beds were on display (WITH LEGS) at the displayed price he paid originally.

Local Spanish shops do that automatically and as said before you can mostly see what you want and have it delivered very quickly. Much better service than the UK.
