Carrefour Wine offers

Just been into Carrefour and was trying to take advantage of certain red and white wine offers & according to the price labels on the shelves, provided you buy 2, you can get 70% off, so even thought it could be too good to be true I picked 4 x 2 of various stuff, some were 0.96, some were between 150 & 2 euro even though they were being advertised at substantially more than this, guess what? I got to the checkout and the "magic" price offers weren't anything like what was on the shelves, who would have thought & even with my basic Spanish, I had to tell the checkout lady that this was not what the shelf price stated, so I didn't purchase. Has anybody else had this kind of issue?

Haha! Carrefour are famous for this!! You’d need to be a Wall Street wizard to work out how to get their supposed offers!

You'll probably find the 70% refers to a second or third bottle. For example, first 2 at normal price then 70% off the third one. 2 euro each is 4 euro plus 60 cents for the third so 4.60. Not 1.80 if it were 70% off the lot.

Think i have read previously that you need a carefour card and the money "saved" is credited to the card to be spent at a later date.
I could be wrong but it was something along those lines.

The discount price is always the largest of the two to attract you to the product. Manipulative advertising!

1st bottle is full price,2nd bottle is 70% off the full price. Yes, sometimes the offer is the saving credited to your club card, but is explained on the ticket on the shelf, different wording.
