The racks are a doddle Ron. Just use those steel wire ball things. Get them in the Chinese bazaar, pack of 6 about a euro, just in the sink with soapy water a quick rub over with one or two of those and they come up as good as new. I did a friends where the grease was baked on and come off easily.

Well Marcliff thanks a lot. One minute wife is reading emails and I am happily reading the Sunday news, next it is up to find the bicarbonate of soda. Enough to make you want to put your head in a gas oven!
Next hour on knees in front of said oven scrubbing and cleaning ,but at least it is a lot cleaner.
‘What’s for dinners” asks I
‘ don’t be stupid, we are going out to eat. You don’t think I will risk getting it dirty again do you?’
Ho hum

On the plus side, with all the vinegar, lemon juice, bicarb and wire wool, if I go and rob a bank they'll never get me as all my fingerprints appear to have gone.
(memo to self; get a pair of Marigolds next time).
