Egg custard tarts

Hamilton's custard tarts are the worst I have ever tasted. They should be made with sweet pastry, but they make theirs with ordinary short crust pastry. The custard is more like scrambled egg. Absolutely terrible.

I'll definitely try to Portuguese ones then. Might as well have a bit of cultural difference as I'm in Spain. :p besides, mercadona also has red pepper hummus so that'll give me another excuse to stop by!

Thanks everyone!

Tried finding them in mercadona, but no luck. Anyone know where they're normally placed? Looked beside the queso tarts and huevo cakes or something

Cheers

In Rojales Mercadona, go to back left hand corner where they have the fresh bread/bakery, & there are some flaps with pastires etc behind.
Use a disposable glove (supplied) and put in paper bag & weigh them on adjacent scales.

Lavender, you must have hone on a bad day there. The ones we bought from hamiltons were perfect
The ones in Quesada, opposite the newsagents, are probably a tad better though
