Electric switches

Electric switches

Postby ScottCummings » Mon Nov 19, 2018 1:31 pm

Hi, i'm looking to replace our light switches/plug sockets from brown to white. I have seen the outside covers for sale but is it possible to buy the plastic switch rather than replacing the whole unit? Ideally I want to just buy the new white outside cover and the switch rather than all the electric gubbins that goes with it. Is that possible? Thanks for any help.

Leroy Merlin have all the parts but you will need to take an old one with you to check size

I think you will have to replace the whole switch, you can get them from the bricolage near consum, Dona pepa

There are so many different types, sizes and styles of switches and sockets, and if yours are fairly old the chances of finding an identical size to swap with, will be very limited.

By the time you have scoured every source, you may as well have changed it. Suggest you change the whole thing. Good luck

Thanks. I’ve got the plastic switch off so will take a look for replacement at Leroy and bricolage otherwise it will be whole new switches.

I have seen a C.E.F van driving round I know the E stands for electrical and the F stands for factors perhaps try the internet if you after quite a few to do the whole house may work out cheaper buying trade, or try the ferretias at the end near Madagascar pets, they good at sourcing stuff, or the ferretias next to the hotel going into Los Monteseinos,

Thanks found CEF online and there is a store in Torrevieja :-)

I'll take a run out today and see what I can find.

Cant find a make or model on the bits but there are a few part numbers so that may help. Looks like they are from the 80's though - same colour as our bathroom suite when i was a kid!!!

I think the C stands for City, as in City Electrical Factors, their logo is the same as the ones over here in the UK.
