Fish pond liner (hard plastic type)

Fish pond liner (hard plastic type)

Hi has anyone seen hard plastic fishpond liners for sale in any of the garden centres please? The only place I have found them is the Garden centre on the roundabout at the bottom of lemon tree road, but unfortunately they do not have a suitable size.

Good luck in trying to find butyle lining out here. 7 years ago I wanted a fish pond built. It was eventually built using breeze blocks and a lot of concrete. The outside walls were then tiled. Fish have bred 3 times so far. Good luck in finding plants. Have been told Valencia have banned aquatic plants but I just resorted to eBay. Also the most common type of oxygenation plant you used to buy is now banned by the EU. Plants wise I'm more than happy to help you out for free.

Wouldn't a Fish Pond be a haven for Mosquitoes?

Janjan - from what I have read, provided the water is moving i.e. through a water feature (fountain / waterfall) its fine, also many fish species will feed on any mosquito larvae.

piglet20 - thank you for the detailed response. I think likely I will end up with a concrete pond eventually, but wanted to start with a liner in order to see how it worked out without spending a fortune. I have actually made some positive progress with Amazon UK since i posted. There are a number of very reasonable priced hard liners available for delivery to Spain and fare more reasonable in prices than Amazon.es so I am likely to make a purchase in the next few days (next come digging the hole!!! Not looking forward to that). I must admit I had not thought so far ahead as the plants, but now you mention it I can see how that will definitely become my next issue. I didn't realise there was an issue with some being banned. Thanks for the heads up and I may well take you up on your kind offer once I have everything in place.
