Hearing aids

Hearing aids

Postby Alysonlee » Fri Sep 03, 2021 11:32 pm

Can anyone please recommend a place to get hearing aids near the Torrevieja area. My Mum recently responded to an ad where they were being sold for 800 Euros, however after examination, for 1 hearing aid, the price was actually 1700 Euros. Any recommendations would be gratefully received. She does not like the really modern tiny ones that sit in the ear, they are too fiddly for her. Thank you.

You can get them supplied by the health service in Spain ,need to see the doctor and get them to make an appointment at the Hospital with the specialist they will prescribe a hearing aid if deemed required

There are a couple of hearing aid shops in Quesada, can recommend Protea who are in the little glass fronted shopping centre by Quesada Mini Golf.
The only place down the coast that I know of is in an opticians in La Zenia, can’t remember what it’s called but it’s between a paint shop and a golf shop, just round the corner from Paddy’s Point.

Thats good to know of somebody who has been there and done that. I was always under the impression you had to go privately.

Keep us informed of how you get on and what type of aids you are offered
Plus whether you get free batteries like you do in the U.K.

It’ll save me a small fortune if I can get them from the health service.
