Can anyone tell me how to clean shutter straps in situ, or if it isn't possible, who will fit new ones for me?

I used the whitener that comes in a bottle for plimsoles, buy it in Mercadona with all the other shoe cleaning bits and pieces. Just dabbed it on the strap, let it dry then pull another 3 ft along and do the same with that. Seems OK
